Bistrita
Overview
Introduction
Bistrita is a large town on the southwestern end of Borgo Pass, the highest road in Romania. The surrounding forested valley is gorgeous, so if you're in the area, plan to stop for an hour or so to see the 13th-century cathedral and the town's medieval merchant houses. Northwest of Bistrita, in
Cosbuc, is the George Cosbuc Museum, which honors the Romanian poet/author born there.
200 mi/320 km northwest of Bucharest.
