CroisiEurope Offers New Pre/Post Cruise Extension Packages

CroisiEurope Cruises has announced the launch of its new cruise extension programs. These new programs offer travelers the opportunity to further immerse themselves in the destinations they visit by offering more in-depth experiences beyond the traditional cruise itinerary.

The new extension programs are designed to complement the existing cruise itineraries and provide guests with the chance to dive deeper into each destination's local culture, history, and cuisine in greater detail through multi-day stays.

Along the Danube with extension to Transylvania and Dracula's Castle

This multi-day extension in Romania includes several excursions that explore the country’s culture, history, and architecture. Visitors will discover the stunning 19th-century Peles Castle and the Sinaia Monastery, take a guided tour of Sibiu, the Brukenthal National Museum, and the Lutheran Cathedral of Saint Mary, and visit the colorful old town in Sighisoara. The trip ends with a transfer to Bucharest.

Bordeaux and the French Basque Country:

This 3-day extension begins with a trip to Biarritz, a once sleepy fishing village that is now an upscale seaside resort town, where guests will be welcomed at a four-star hotel with a welcome cocktail. The first excursion is a full-day trip to the French Basque Country, starting in Espelette, a small city known for its mildly hot peppers, which are a cornerstone of French Basque cuisine. After a traditional Basque lunch, guests will tour Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port, a charming village in the heart of the Pyrenees named one of the most beautiful villages in France, and visit the Irouléguy wine cellars for a tasting. The second day includes a guided tour of old Bayonne, where guests will learn about the French Basque Country’s rich architectural heritage, including a visit to a salted-meat workshop. The day ends with a traditional Basque meal at a local cider house before heading by coach trip to Bordeaux, where guests will board the ship. Throughout the itinerary, guests will have plenty of free time to explore the local areas and enjoy the ocean’s health benefits in Biarritz.

Andalusia, the Pueblos Blancos, and the Jamon Iberico Route:

This extension includes a trip to Jerez de la Frontera, where guests will check into a 4-star hotel upon arrival. The first excursion is a full-day trip to the Pueblos Blancos, including a visit to the charming village of Arcos de la Frontera and a drive through Grazalema Natural Park with breathtaking views at every turn. After lunch in Ronda, the largest city in the region, guests will continue through the park towards Ubrique. The second excursion is a visit to the regional pig-raising pasturelands and the Jabugo ham production area, one of the most famous hams in the world. Guests will learn about the ham-making process and enjoy a tasting before having lunch and leaving for Seville in the afternoon.

Discover Lisbon, Porto and the Douro Valley:

The itinerary is a multi-day tour that includes visits to several cities in Portugal. The first day is spent in Lisbon, where the group checks into a 4-star hotel and has free time in the evening after dinner. On the second day, the group goes on a guided tour of Lisbon, starting at the Belém Cultural Center and the famous Belém Tower, an important symbol of the Age of Discovery. The tour also includes a visit to the Jeronimos Monastery, a masterpiece of Manueline architecture. In the afternoon, there is a panoramic tour of Lisbon before returning to the hotel for the evening. The third day starts with a coach trip to Coimbra, a charming city known for its inspiration to poets. The tour includes a visit to the city and its hillside that cascades down to the Rio Mondego. Afterwards, the group hits the road again towards Porto.

From the Chateaux of Chambord and Chenonceau to the Loire Valley:

This extension begins in Paris with a dinner at the Noces de Jeannette restaurant followed by a night at the Villa Montparnasse hotel. The next day, depart the city of lights for visits to two of the Loire Valley's most famous castles: the Château de Chambord, a famous castle built by King Francis I and a tour of the Château de Chenonceau, which spans the Cher River. The day ends in Nantes, where visitors will arrive in time to board the ship for a Loire Valley cruise. 

Venice, the Veneto, Emilia Romagna and Milan:

This itinerary includes a trip to Milan, where visitors will take a panoramic tour of the city, have lunch in a local restaurant, and then explore the historic center, including a visit to the cathedral. They will then stay in a 4-star hotel in Milan or Lake Maggiore. The following day, they will take a guided tour of Como, including a visit to the cathedral, a funicular railway ride to the summit, a boat tour of the lake, and then return to Milan for dinner and another overnight stay in a 4-star hotel. The trip ends after breakfast on the third day.
