How Riverside Ravel Got To The Rhone

Look closely at the photo below, and you’ll see Riverside Ravel piggybacking on Yacht Servant. The latter is a vessel designed for transport. You can find a fascinating video about ship transport here

Our interest, however, is Riverside Ravel. The ship, which had been operating on the Danube before Crystal’s insolvency, had been laid up in Rotterdam. There, Ravel was loaded on to Yacht Servant for a ride to Fos-sur-Mer, where the Rhone and the Mediterranean meet. Riverside Ravel is currently upriver in Arles, awaiting deployment on a series of Rhone itineraries that you’ll find in our story Riverside Luxury Cruises | Ravel's Rhone Sailings 2023

When Ravel operated for Crystal, the company told us that it had no plans to cruise on the Rhone because of the high cost of operating in France. That Riverside is operating in France is a sign that the company isn't cutting corners and that it is willing to do what it takes to offer guests only the best. We're happy to see Ravel on the Rhone.
